History (Please note, this information has not been edited and corrected yet. 03/21/2011):

Born in Thailand to her Chinese Father and Norwegian Mother, Lene grew up around the Chinese culture for only a brief period before her parents moved to the United States for business. With high achieving parents, Lene herself was raised with the expectations of achieving more than what most children her age were capable of comprehending. However, her parents also expressed loving and supportive characteristics that Lene herself drew strength from.

Wishing to be in public school, but taking additional private studies at home, she saw children around her growing up in various situations that were both happy and unhappy from the outside point of view. Wanting to understand this better while still at a young age, she convinced her parents to allow her to move to another school in an entirely different State. This social experiment allowed her to earn various Awards in the Scientific and Psychological community by the time she turned 18. (more on the experiment in the first few issues of MockTales: Adventures of Tim Garn)

Once done with Highschool, and having earned a consierable amount of money writing a book about what she experienced, Lene travelled the world to physically experience things she had only read about as a child. However, when it came to visiting War-torn countries, and areas of the world that were in poverty and sickness, Lene felt she wanted to head into a new direction. She signed up for the United States Marines. Serving eight years with the Military helped Lene gain more perspective on the world. She survived life and death situations that, in the past, had only seeme like something written in a book or shown in a movie. The people she served with weren't Quick-draw sharp shooters or amazing martial artists who could sneak around the enemy like Ninjas. They were real people, doing the best they could to save lives and defend a country. And with this knowledge and experience, Lene felt more wise and accomplished than she could ever have imagined. She combined scholarly knowledge with real world application.

After returning to the United States, Lene decided to move back where she felt at home; Kent, Washington. She immediately bumped into a former classmate with whom she had a poor history with, Brock Chapman. Brock had become a Police Officer in Seattle. And, in Lene's opinion, a very poor one at that. He still live in the same neighborhood when in Highschool and on occasion would see Lene around town. Wanting to do something with her time, and using the experience she gained in the Military, Lene joined the City of Kent Police department as a 29-year old rookie. Now as a Police Officer herself, Lene has been able to make a more posative turn-around with Law Enforcement than what she feels Officers like Brock have become. Patrolling the streets on foot, bike patrol and the occasional squad car, Lene started gaining support from business owners and citizens to do everything they can to help keep their communities safe and in order. Brock was not happy with this at all. And after almost three years, he decided he had enough. Along with two other friends, both Seattle Police, Brock started causing trouble, knowing it would get Lene's attention. Along with her new Partner, Lene responded to a call from one of the local residents. And when she arrived, she found Brock acting hostile to a clerk at the local Grocery Mart.

While in the middle of handling the situation with Brock, Lene and her Partner, as well as others around them, noticed that the sky was going dark too early and too fast. The ground began to rumble. The hairs on the back of her neck started standing up and the smell of electricity was in the air. With most of the people dropping to the groun, in fear of what might be happening, Lene told everyone to stay calm and to sit down until she found out what was going on. It was at that moment that her vision went blurry and she became dizzy, amost passing out from some sort of energy burst all around them. Lene held on to the counter next to her an closed her eyes. When the hum and rumble ended, she decided to look at see what had happened. Opening her eyes, she saw most of the people passe out aroun her. The sky outside still dark, but a soft blue glow lit up the streets. Getting up next after Lene was Brock. He had immediately pulled out his pistol. Lene asked him to put it away, but he would not listen. He was aggresive and wanted answers. Stepping outside, Brock and Lene noticed panic in the streets. People were running around the streets, frightened and scared and looking up. When both Officers looked to the sky, they saw what appeared to be chain lightening travelling all around them and then far off into the distance, in such a way that they had never seen before. Pushing the situation even further, a Jet which appeared to have been landing at SeaTac Airport just a few cities away, had suddenly shifted course and began falling close by. Unable to do anything but watch, Lene and Brock braced as the plane exploded on contact just a few miles away.

Going back into the Grocery Mart, Lene and Brock began waking up the other Officers. Lene tried making contact with her Dispatch, but there was no answer. Wanting to establish order an calm people down, Lene asked Brock to join both her and her partner in Policing the streets and doing what they could to help people. Brock, on the other hand, wanted to stay where they were and try to make contact with any form of City or Government agency, despite phones and other communication resources being down. He had figured that with panic and dissorder, not even five Police Officers could make a difference. Grabbing her partner, Lene attempted to leave when Brock grabbed her by the arm, and then cuffed her to a hard water-pipe in the store. Pulling their guns, Brock's companions followed suite and then cuffed Lene's partner. While spending most of the evening arguing about what they should do, Lene's partner noticed that the streets were now quiet. Lene begged Brock to let them go and for the group to travel at least to the Police Station a few miles up the road. But again, Brock got even more angry at Lene's defiance. Lene knew something was wrong with him. Brock had been a bit of a loose cannon, but even now this was going beyond what she expected. Something was wrong with him. And she was going to try to get to the bottom of it before it got all of them killed.
